I am a professional software engineer working at a financial services company. We are a Microsoft shop, so I know a lot about asp.net, C#, Windows Communication Foundation, etc., but not a lot about Python, or any of the other platforms that seem to be popular in digital humanities circles.

I am also a Master's student in the history department of the University of South Florida who loves the subject, and would like to see more people have access through digital history projects.
